November 4, Sunday 4:30 - 6:30 PM
Ice Skating at Cabin John Ice Rink
Everyone is invited for family fun as we gather for ice skating at the Cabin John Ice Rink at 10610 Westlake Drive near the Montgomery Mall. This is a family event and all ages are welcomed. Admission begins at $3.50 for toddlers to $6 for adults. Don’t have ice skates? Rent either regular skates or hockey skates for $3 (plus tax).

November 9 - 11, Friday - Sunday
Confirmation Retreat
This is our first Confirmation Retreat for the year. The retreat will take place at the New Windsor Retreat and Conference Center. We will leave the church at 4 p.m. on Friday and return around 1:30 p.m. on Sunday. Please have your forms for this retreat turned into the church office by November 4, 2007.

November 12, Monday, Noon
Fun Bunch Lunch
The Fun Bunch will get together for lunch in the Fellowship Hall. This lunch will be “catered,” so please RSVP by either signing up in the Narthex or contacting the church office.

November 18, Sunday, 12:30 - 2:30 PM
Youth Get-Together at the Sullivan’s
The youth will gather at the Sullivan’s for food and fellowship. Contact Pastor Lewis for directions.

November 22, Thursday, 10 AM
Thanksgiving Service
Everyone is invite to the Thanksgiving Service at church. This is a special time to gather as a community to give God thanks for all that we have and all that God has done for us.

November 30 - December 2, Friday - Sunday
Chrysalis High School Retreat
This is the Synod High School Retreat that takes place in Front Royal, VA each year. Forms should be in by November 1. However, if there is still room left, we can take a few late registration forms up to November 8 with a with a late fee. Contact Pastor Lewis if you have any questions.

October 2007 Calendar

October 7, Sunday, 12:30 - 2:30 PM
Lunch and Planning at the Hunley’s
The youth will meet at the Hunley’s house for lunch as we begin to plan for Youth Sunday. We need all the youth to gather to plan this important event in the life of our community.

October 13, Saturday, 6 PM
Markoff’s Haunted Forest
Everyone of all ages are invited to join us to be scared silly at Markoff’s Haunted Forest (19120 Martinsburg Road, Dickerson, MD) which is only 35 minutes from the church. We will meet at the front gates and go through the line at the same time so we can enter the forest as one group. The cost is $20 a person. They DO NOT accept credit cards.

October 14, Sunday, 12:30 - 2:00 PM
Lunch and Development for Youth Service
All youth will meet in the Christian Education Room for a light lunch, finalize plans and rehearse for the Youth Service next week.

October 21, Sunday, Both Services
Youth Sunday
Both worship services will be led by the youth this Sunday. All youth are invited to be a part of this important event in the life of our community.

October 23, Tuesday, 11 AM
Fun Bunch Outing
The Fun Bunch will gather at the church at 11 AM to carpool up to Fredrick for lunch and visiting antique shops. On the way there and back we will do some “leaf-peaking” and enjoy the fall color.

October 26, Friday, 6:30 PM
Family Movie and Potluck
Everyone is welcomed to join us for our Family Movie and Potluck. Our movie this mouth is the live-action version of Charlotte’s Web. Bring a potluck dish to share and enjoy a great movie. This is also a great time to bring a friend. See the write-up elsewhere in this issue for more information.
